I was to have this root cancel done before but I cancel the appointment because I was so nervous it was making me sick. I can not put it off any longer so any information to help me though this would be great

Being nervous about getting dental work done is nothing new. However, it does not stop the work from needing to be done. Having a root canal should not cause you any pain. The only thing that may sting you a little is the numbing shoot the dentist gives you so that you do not feel them doing the root canal.
I would suggest that you let your dentist know about your worries a head of time if they do not already know. Dentist know how to handle people worries.

I had to have a root canal about three year ago. It did not hurt since my dentist numb my mouth out so bad I could not feel anything that was going on. Having the root canal took long since it is more work then just having a filling done.
The dentist has to remove all the tooth nerves. Then he fill the tooth back up and put on a temp crown on until your permanent crown comes in. Then you just go back in for your permanent crown and you are done.
Now your mouth may be sore just because of having it open for a long time but that normally feel better in a day or two. I did not need any medication for pain but if you feel after words that you are in some pain then any over the counter pain medicine like Advile or Aleve should be fine.

To help with your fears of just going to have your root canal done, I suggest taking your I Pod or whatever you use to listen to your music. Most dentist do not care if you go there with head phone on while they do the work needed.
That way you can just focus on listening to your music and tune out what your dentist is doing. That has helped me in the past so it may do the trick for you too.

Please do not continue putting off having your root canal done. Your tooth and you will only suffer more if you keep putting it off.
Having a root canal is really not that big of a deal. Just let your dentist know about your worries. Also let your dentist know right away if you feel any pain so that they can numb that area up some more. Some people feel like that can not tell the dentist that they are feeling the pain which is just silly.
The dentist will tell you to let them know if you feel anything thing because they do not want you to be in any pain.

It really isn’t bad at all when the proper steps are taken. You will be numbed up so the pain should be minimal. Don’t wait any longer though and just get it done as soon as possible.
