Dentist and Dental Hygienist, What the difference between them
What is the difference between a dentist and a dental hygienist? My mom is going to a dentist but he seems to always have his dental hygienist do all the work. His dental hygienist is nice and cleans my mom teeth but the dentist does not seem to do much of anything at all. So what is the deal with that?

A dentist has about eight years of schooling. A hygienist about two. A dentist can do every thing and prescribe prescriptions if needed. A hygienist cleans your teeth.
I think those are some of the main differences

If all you want is a dental cleaning go to a hygienist. If you need anything more done go to a dentist.
