Worried about my dental surgery
Can’t stop thinking about my surgery
I will be going in to the Oral surgeon to have six of my teeth pulled. I have really bad teeth and pulling them is the only choice left to me. After word I will be getting partials until they review how I am healing and see if I can have implants or not.
This is really going to make my mouth look 100% better I know this. However I am scared about the process of having so many teeth pulled at once. I do not know what to expect. Will I be in a lot of pain afterwords? How long should it take for my gums to heal? I will be so happy when this is over but the waiting is making me sick since all I do is fret about it. Any advise or helpful information would be appreciate.

Deroses, I can understand you worries having so many teeth pulled at once is a little discouraging. You will not feel anything at the time because you will be put to sleep. Afterwords there may be some pain but the dentist will normally give you a prescription for that.
The healing process is different for everyone. A good thing to know is that your mouth normally does heal faster then the rest of your body.

Normally you will be put to sleep when having so many teeth removed. So you should not feel a thing during the dental procedure.
I am not going to say you will not have pain afterword you probably will have some pain or discomfort. However, that is to be expected. Your dentist may give you a pain killing prescription that will last you for a few days.
Healing can depend but at least a week to feel normal and another week for it to heal completely. The better you follow the aftercare instruction the better off you will be so make sure you do as instructed.

I had to have nine teeth pulled at once for my dentures to be put in. I really can understand what you are going though. It was a long day for me. After having my teeth pulled they fitted the dentures the same day.
I was really out of it the first day. I took the pain killers they gave me but really only had to take them for two days. After that it was not so bad.
My face was swollen for about a week and a half. It is just stress to your mouth so it does take a little while to completely heal. I have diabetes so I also had no choice but to have my teeth pulled.
I will say now that is is all over with I wish I would have done it sooner. My teeth and smile looks so nice and I am really so much happier. Then when all I had was a mouth full of bad teeth.
