Dental advise, I have really bad teeth
I have not been to the dentist in over seven years. I use to go to the dentist regularly before I had a really bad dentist that messed up a root canal and I have not been back since getting that fixed. I guess I am afraid of dentist because of that experience.
I know that I have to overcome my fears and go to the dentist because my teeth hurt almost every day now. I know I have alot wrong with them. It sometimes hurts just to brush. My questions is this. I am really worried about going to the dentist because my teeth are really bad. What will a dentist do for the first appointment?
I am thinking a dentist may do a cleaning but I afraid it will hurt since it hurts to brush a clean may hurt even more. If a dentist hurts me too much I am not sure how I am going to get over my fears then. Please give me some useful adivse

Well the dentist will take X-rays that is a given. They will also look at your teeth and gums. Before the dentist does any more work the dentist would go over what he/she feels you need to have done.
Given the fact that you have not been to the dentist in seven years you may have to have alot of work that the dentist can brake down for you.
It can be hard but it is important that you take good care of your oral health and going to a dentist is just part of doing that. Do not put it off any longer. See a dentist now. The dentist will always try to cause you little to no pain. However think about it you are in pain now without seeing a dentist which is worse?

To be honest it just may hurt you a little. The dentist will do every thing possible to try and not hurt you but you may have some slight pain.
Beyond getting your teeth fix you may also have gum issues that need to be address. Keep in mind it has been a while since you seen a dentist. That means a possible deep cleaning may be needed.
In short get dental insurance first if you do not have any yet. You will need help with your dental cost. I can understand to a point about be afraid of a dentist but your in pain now how does not going to a dentist help you any. I think I would be more scared of having serious teeth and health issues.

No a dentist will fix your teeth and will try to do so without causing you any pain. If you feel any pain just let the dentist know and so that he/she can numb your mouth out.
Going to the dentist is a must at this point because you will have continue pain if you do nothing.
