Dental opinion, Is buying dental insurance worth it?
So my front tooth just cracked down the middle of the tooth. The crack is running up an down so my dentist told me I will need to have it pulled and then get a implant. Note I do not want a bridge since you have to mess up two more teeth just to get a bridge. Any way so to have the tooth pulled and to get the implant is going to cost me over $2000.00 then the dentist will put a crown on it which will cost at least another $800.00. Is it too late to get dental insurance and if not is it really worth buying dental insurance at this point?

Well it is never to late to get something to help fray your dental cost. Just do not start any work until you have something in place.
Now many dental insurance do not cover for implants. So if that is what you wanting make sure the plan you reviewing covers what you want to have done
Otherwise look into a dental discount plan. You would get 15 – 20% off the cost of implants as long as there is a dentist in their plan network that does implant services.

Well waiting until you have dental problems with your teeth before getting a dental insurance plan can make it seem as if buy dental insurance is not worth it.
However, had you had dental insurance in force before having teeth issues. You one may not even have your current teeth issues because hopefully you would have be using your plan. Had these teeth issues still come up you would of had insurance in place to take care of them
It like trying to get auto insurance to cover for a auto accident you had after the fact. Not going to happen.
Now your best bet may be a dental discount plan as suggested in a prior reply. Good luck to you
