California dental, Crown repair with root canal
I have had this old crown now for eight years or so. It was put on after having a large size cavity. Now it really is hurting me and at this time I do not have dental insurance though work or any place else.
I seen a dentist and was told that I now need to have root canal done an will need to have a new crown put back on The cost of having this done was well over $1000 and I am not sure what to do. I need a dental plan that will help me with this right away.

First get dental insurance now. You do not have to get dental insurance though work to have it. We offer some really good dental plans on this very website all you need to do is click on the link for your dental quotes.
I suggest looking at our dental HMO plans for your current needs since they do not have the long term waiting periods as the dental PPO plans we offer.

You may also want to reveiw the dental discount plans we offer in California. On a dental discount plan they start within the next business day so you can go to a dentist ASAP for your needed dental work and get the instant dental savings. This would be another good way to save cost for your current dental issue.

Sounds like you got a new cavity under your old crown that happen to me once. Try telling the dentist you want them to save the crown you currently have. If they are careful this can be done that way you save money by not having to buy a new crown.
Though the cost you are be told for a root canal and a crown is really good when you do not have dental insurance.

You may want to see if you have any dental school near you that you can go to for lower cost dental care. That or a dental clinic.
After this is said and done I do hope you think about getting a low cost dental insurance plan. I have GoldenWest dental 200 plan and I live in LA CA it is only 19.11 a month so it is very affordable compare to worrying about how you are going to afford your current dental work.
