New York Dental Care, Cavities and a broken tooth
I need to have some serious dental care. I do not have any dental insurance and right now I not even working though I am trying to find a job but times are really hard.
It does not help that my teeth look so bad. I know I have cavities because I can see them also one of the teeth in the back is broken. I am not sure what to do. I really feel that part of the reason I can not get a job is because of how my teeth look.
I been without a job for a year not and the money I get for unemployment is not enough for me to get extras like dental care. I not sure what to do but is there anywhere I can go for free to very low cost dental care?

First I will suggest that if you feel you can afford $10 a month for a dental plan it would be a good way to help reduce your dental cost. We offer dental discount plans that are under $10 a month of a single person.
Other then that I really do not know where in New York you can go for free dental care. Under our dental discount plan you may be able to find a dentist that will offer you a payment plan for their services. However without means of making payments that maybe hard to find. I would suggest calling some of the dentist in our programs to see if any will work things out with you.

Some dentist will offer a payment plan if you have good credit. Which you may have. If so I would take the time and start making some phone calls. Getting a dental discount plan would be a good way to help reduce all your dental cost as well.

Another way that you may be able to get low cost dental care would be checking into any dental schools. If you do have dental school near by you that you can go to they are normally less expensive then your general dentist.
Also see if you have any dental clinics near you. Dental clinics will also normally be less expensive and some may charge you based on your income and what you can afford to pay but each one is different in how they run so make sure you call around and ask them about billing and payment issues.

I am not sure you can blame your teeth as to why you may not be able to get a job. Like you said times are hard all over. Try not smiling so much if you feel your teeth is an issue. Smile with your lips and not your teeth.
Now I know this does not help you fix your teeth but without having a job I am not sure where you can go for free dental care. Although many states are cutting out programs you may want to see about calling United Way they some times have dental care. Check in the front part of your phone book for state programs that may help you.
Lastly I would also look into dental clinics some do offer very low to free dental care depending on your income. Good luck

On our web site we offer dental insurance and dental discount plans as a way to make having dental care much more affordable.
However even still there is a cost to the plans they do start as low as $7.95 a month. That being said there is still cost for the dental services just much less then if you walked in with nothing.
You seem to make is clear you have no money for dental care. That leaves you with getting a job first or trying to find a low cost dental clinic.
I would suggest going on line and searching for free dental clinics that many be near you. I did a brief seach on line and found many sites that state they will offer free dental care.
I did not read into any fine print or exclusions. Also since I do not know where in New York you live I could not really refer you but they are out there you only need to do a little searching around and making phone calls. I wish you well
