Dental discount networks, getting the best dental plan in Texas
Dental discount networks, getting the best dental plan in Texas: How do dental discount plans really work? Are the dentist in the plan network really good dentist? Do they honor the discounted prices the plan states? I have heard both really good things about dental discount network plans and some really bad things as well.
In the end I just want a dental plan that will work for me where I can find a good dentist and not one out just to make a buck and kick you out so he can get to the next person in the waiting room so to say. I have those dentist and it never work well for me.

To be frank your problems you had in the past seem more about the dentist then any dental insurance and or plan you may have had. Bad dentist are in dental insurance plans as well as dental discount plans.
One thing you can do is just check out the dental office a little before committing to anything one dental office. Under a dental discount plan you are not assigned to a dental office though you do need to go to dental offices that accept the plan you are in. Therefore if you go to one dentist and you do not like them go to the next one in the company network.
Dental discount plans will help you save money off all your dental needs for a low monthly cost to you. By going to dentist that take the plan those dentist reduce their cost to you as a plan member.
For many dental discount plans they offer a set fee schedule for many different types of dental services. You should keep in mind that the fee schedules listed are for the general dentist in the plan network and normally not the saving you will get if you go to a plan network specialist.
If you have a question about our discount cost for services you can always call member services to make sure the dentist is quoting the correct discounted cost before having the dental services.

I agree that it is not about the type of dental plan that a dentist take that makes that dentist or dental office good or bad. If you check out the dental office first before buying the plan you may have better luck. Call the dentist and confirm the are accepting the dental plan in question. Asking basic over the phone questions they should be able to say yes or no to. Getting a feel for them over the phone is the first step.
Besides it is not like you are locked into just seeing the one dentist under a discount plan unless they only have one in your area. In cases like that you may want to find a dental discount plan that has more providers to choose from.

There are goods and bads in almost any dental plan type you get. I have a dental discount plan that I am quite happy with now. But when I first used the plan I did have to change dentist twice until I found one that was really working with me and what I could afford to have done.
This is not a dental discount plan thing I had that happen to me when I had a dental PPO plan with my work. I had to keep changing dental office until I found one that I liked. Just do not feel like you have to keep anyone dentist the choice is yours if you want to change dental providers or not.
