Question about my son teeth
My eight year old son has been complaining of a toothache in his bottom back molar. I have not taken him to see a dentist in nine months. I had is dental appointment but missed it due to other family issues that came up. I re-booked his appointment but it is not until June. I am trying to get in sooner now that he has a toothache.
I tried looking at the
tooth in question but it just looks like his other
teeth and it is not loose. I am worried that he may have a cavity since I was three months late on his dental appointment. He never had a cavity before. I am looking for advise on how to help easy the toothache pain until I can get to the
dentist (hopefully in a day or two)
Also if it is a cavity is there any advise on how to easy my son though getting a filling? I am not sure how he will react to having to have
dental work. He is not the greatest about getting the cleaning done.

Well you can try Orajel and Tylenol for the toothache pain until he gets in to see the dentist. I would not really get him to worked up about having to have a filling until you know for sure that is whats needed.
If by chance he does need to have a filling then tell him in order for his tooth to stop hurting the dentist is going to do a filling to fix it. Keep it light if you do not make it into a big deal then he will not think much of having it done.

It may be a cavity or just something simple like food bit caught between is tooth and gum causing him to have some pain. Take him to the dentist as soon as you can and if he has to have a filling just be up front and tell him.
Filling do not hurt the dentist will numb out his mouth so he does not feel anything. About the biggest thing to deal with is the shot if he has to have one to help numb him out

Maybe he is just getting is adult tooth in so that it is hurting him a little. If that is the case it is a lot like teething and Orajel should help him some. There is not much you can do other then taking him to see the dentist which is something you are going to be doing anyway. So just wait until the dentist and see what he or she has to say.
