Dentist threatens law suit against a Patient that gave a negative Yelp review
A New York dentist has her patients sign Mutual Agreement to Maintain Privacy, before her patients are treated. This form requires agreeing not to publish any commentary or write anything disparaging about their experience with the Dentist.
However one patient did write a negative review about the dentist and her practice on Yelp and DoctorBase, after having had such a bad experience and feeling that he was being over charged. Although he did sign the forms he did so under severe pain and, therefore, gave in to the requirements.
The dentist seeing the reviewing sent a letter demanding that he delete the post, warning him that he violated the agreement and threatening to sue for breach of contract. The dentist reportedly even try having the sites pull down the bad review. However the sites refused to remove the negative reviews and she now invoicing her prior patient $100.00 a day for each day the review remained online.
