Broke Tooth After Having a Root Canal
Question: I had a root canal done on one of my back molars. The root canal was done about three weeks ago. I was to go back in for the crown because I only had a temp crown on, which came off a few days latter. Since I had an appointment to go back to the dentist, I did nothing about it. Today when I was eating, a part of tooth with the root canal broke off. Now I have a hole in my tooth. My appoint is in three more days. The dentist was going to put the new crown on. What will he do now? Will I still get my crown?
Answer: It is possible that you did not brake the tooth but damaged the crown build up. If you did brake the tooth then it depends on how much damage you did to the tooth on whether or not it can be saved. I would call the dentist and see if you can get in sooner then your appointment you do not want to do further damage to the tooth.
