Is this coming from my teeth? The other day when I woke up I coughed out a little white chunk. Looks a lot like cottage cheese. Anyway I have had this happen to me before and it smell and tastes really bad. I do not know what it is or where it is coming from.I am worried that my breath must smell just a bad but no one as said anything to me about it.
I brush and floss daily. Although it does not happen all the time it is gross when it does.
Reply: This can happen partly from having poor dental hygiene habits. If you open your mouth wide enough you will see your tonsils. Back by your tonsils you have naturals pits that can collect bacteria. This happens when food particles get stuck in this pits.
Over time it builds up into that white cottage cheese chunk. Look into getting a good antibacterial mouthwash. Use the mouthwash to gargle with. Gargling is important in order to get what is stuck in the back of your throat.
Some people only swish the mouthwash around in their mouth but that only helps their teeth and tongue not the back of the throat.
