Can bad teeth be an inherited trait

I am fourteen years old and I am wanting to know if having bad teeth and gums are an inherited trait?  Both my parents and even my grand parents have bad teeth.  I had lots of issues with my baby teeth.  I had at least a dozen cavities that had to be filled when I had my baby teeth.

My Adult teeth seem to be okay for now but I am worried latter on in life I am going to have bad teeth.  I do not what to have to go to the dentist all the time like my parents.  They go to the dentist at least four to five times a year.  What is the chance that I will have jacked up teeth because my parents do?
